I’m, I’m Not

“I’m, I’m Not” By Matt Hubert © 2004

I’m not a stereotypical,
I’m a mostly original,
sometimes superstitional,
purely individual
man.

I’m a never say die kind of,
if not win, always try kind of,
not with a push and a shove,
but with heart and with love;
I can.

I’m a think first, think last,
look to the future, remember past,
live present because it goes fast,
question not if it will be a blast;
do.

I’m a young, full of doubt,
wondering what love’s about,
trying to find the whole world out,
understanding only about
wonders.

I’m a student of this life,
of dealing with newfound strife,
of the potential of a wife,
of the needing to share life
with.

I’m a novice and a pro,
writing words few will ever know,
about people who’ll likely go,
even wishing it weren’t so;
writing.
