When I asked them to write,
some put up quite the fight.
They asked me their questions.
They asked for suggestions.
I said they’d be alright.

They each had to write two
in the styles of who?
“Frost and Cummings,” I said.
The last two who we’ve read.
Some still did not have a clue.

Then they started to work,
mumbling “Hubert’s a jerk.”
They soon became poets.
And wouldn’t you know it.
They actually did some good work.
